The Ant and the Grasshopper - Moral Story for Kids
It was summer.
 The sun was shining.
The grasshopper was sitting on a leaf, playing his violin.
“Chirp, chirp! Life is so easy!” he sang.

Nearby, a line of ants was working hard.
They carried food, one by one, to their home.

The grasshopper laughed.
“Ha ha! Why do you work so much? Come and play with me!”

But the ants said,
“We are storing food for winter.
When it is cold, we will have plenty to eat.”

The grasshopper shook his head and kept playing.
He did not collect any food.

Soon, winter came.
The wind blew. The snow fell.
The ants stayed warm in their home, eating the food they had saved.

The grasshopper was cold and hungry.
He had no food at all.

He remembered the ants and said sadly,
“Oh! I should have worked in summer. Now I have nothing.”

Moral of the Story

Work hard today, and you will not suffer tomorrow.
